Old Jack County
Texas Newspapers |
(4 years, 438 pages of papers below.
Only parts of 1883, 1884 and 1885)
On this microfilm The Rural Citizen changed to a large 8 column format. The print on the microfilm images was small and a little hard to read. Most parts are readable, but our searchable PDFs are not very accurate. The papers appear to have been photographed from 'books' of paper pages. (see first 2 images below). A book of papers July 1884-June 1885 seems to be missing from this film. In 1886 a new microfilm starts as the paper changed it's name to The Jacksboro Gazette and went to a 7 column format. This print is easier to read and made better PDFs. |

1883 The Rural Citizen
(27 Papers, 110 Pages. Microfilm started in June. The first 2 images show how
the slides looked on this microfilm. Papers were bound in book form. There was a
very dark shadow in some creases. I tried to lighten these shadows. The paper has now gone to a large size
paper with 8 columns. Print on the microfilm was small.)

(24 Papers, 100 Pages. Microfilm ends in June. This appears to be the end of
a bound book of papers. The next book is missing from the microfilm.)

(21 Papers, 82 Pages. Microfilm starts in July. The first part of the year
may have been in a book that was not on this microfilm. The first image is an ad
for the Educational Institute.)

new Court House.)
